FAQ

What is the repeat positioning accuracy of your zero-point clamping system?

The JWGRIP zero-point positioning system has a standard repeatability positioning accuracy of less than 0.005mm. The entire set of modules undergoes three precision tests upon leaving the factory, and an inspection report can be provided. It is suitable for high-precision processing scenarios such as mold manufacturing and five-axis CNC.

Are your fixtures interchangeable with EROWA / 3R standard interfaces? Can I replace imported units directly?

Yes. Our standard modules are fully interchangeable with EROWA & 3R. Existing customer pallets can be modified without full remanufacturing to cut your upgrading cost.

Will workpieces release if air supply fails? Is it safe?

Our pneumatic zero-point units adopt mechanical spring self-locking design. Workpieces stay firmly clamped when compressed-air is lost, safe for heavy-duty machining.

What machines are compatible? Is it suitable for 5-axis machining centers?

Compatible with CNC milling, machining centers, grinder, EDM and robot automation lines. 5-axis machining is one of our main applications. Off-machine pre-setup greatly reduces machine downtime.

How much setup-time can zero-point system save?

Traditional bolt clamping takes 20-40 min for fixture change. Zero-point change-over finishes within seconds without re-indicating. For multi-variant small-batch production, spindle utilization can increase by 20%-40%.

What causes accuracy drop and how to maintain zero-point modules?

Chip and coolant contamination on locating surfaces is the main cause. Regularly clean locating faces and pull-studs, keep air source clean & dry. Never strike locating surfaces. Contact our engineers for troubleshooting.

How do I select the correct zero-point model for my machine?

Please share machine-table dimension, workpiece weight, required clamping force and hole layout. Our engineers offer free selection proposal according to your drawings.

Do you accept custom fixture, OEM & ODM projects?

Yes. We provide custom base plates, custom pallets and complete work-holding solutions based on your workpiece drawing. OEM / ODM is acceptable.

What is your MOQ? Can I order sample units for testing?

No strict MOQ for standard zero-point modules, 1-unit sample order is supported. MOQ for non-standard products depends on drawing evaluation.

What kind of manufacturer are you? What certifications do you hold?

We are a source manufacturing factory, specializing in high-end workholding fixtures, zero-point positioning systems, self-centering vices, and electrical discharge fixtures. We have obtained ISO9001 quality management system certification and strictly implement quality control throughout the process. We can provide product inspection reports.

What is your lead-time for standard & custom items?

Standard off-the-shelf modules: 3-7 working days; Batch standard orders: 10-15 working days; Non-standard customized fixtures: 15-25 working days (depending on the complexity of the drawings).

What is your warranty policy? How about overseas after-sales service?

12-month warranty for standard products (excluding man-made damage). We provide remote video & drawing-based technical support for overseas clients. Wear-parts can be shipped together with your order.

Can you provide STEP / IGES 3D CAD files?

Yes. 3D STEP files will be provided upon serious order intention for your fixture simulation.

What is the core difference between self-centering vise and standard single-jaw machine vise?

Traditional flat-jaw chisels only allow movement of one side of the jaws. Each time a new part is used, the center of the workpiece will shift. The self-centering vise, on the other hand, allows both sides of the jaws to move synchronously and symmetrically. The center reference of the workpiece remains unchanged, eliminating the need to repeatedly modify the machine coordinate system. This significantly reduces the alignment time and is suitable for batch processing of precision parts.

Will clamping force be unbalanced among multiple zero-point units?

Our balanced air-distribution design ensures uniform clamping force for multi-unit groups. Keep good base-plate flatness and stable air pressure to guarantee consistent machining performance.

Is zero-point system safe under heavy lateral cutting force?

Zero-point units are equipped with anti-shear locating pins to withstand strong lateral milling force. For heavy-cutting high-torque applications, auxiliary stoppers are recommended to improve overall fixture rigidity.

What is factory flatness tolerance for zero-point base plate? Will it deform in long-term operation?

Base-plate flatness ≤0.008 mm per 300 mm. Stress-relieved alloy steel minimizes deformation under regular clamping. Avoid heavy local overload and high-temperature impact.

Can I only buy some spare parts from you?

Yes. We sell various spare parts separately, including consumable components such as zero-point positioning pins, locating pins, and pneumatic fittings. We support both combined shipments with complete machine orders and standalone spare parts purchase orders.
