What Is a Compatible EROWA Uniblank ?

A uniblank is a solid, unfinished pallet blank used as the base for building dedicated fixtures within the EROWA ecosystem. The 72 refers to its nominal 72 mm carrier size. Our compatible EROWA Uniblank 72 is supplied in blank condition, ready for customers to drill, tap, mill or wire-cut according to their own fixture design.

    How Does It Work?

The working principle is simple but powerful. The customer first machines the blank into the required fixture shape, then mounts it onto a standard EROWA chuck or pallet. The precision reference surfaces and locating bore engage with the chuck and lock the fixture into a defined position. Once clamped, the workpiece can be transferred between EDM, milling and grinding machines using the same datum and re-clamped repeatedly without re-indicating. This "set once, use many times" principle is the foundation of unmanned and flexible production.

    Material & Process Advantages

The blank is made of forged alloy steel and undergoes complete stress-relieving heat treatment to eliminate the internal residual stress generated during machining. Many low-cost suppliers omit this critical step. If residual stress remains in the blank material, repeated clamping in the workshop and day-night temperature changes can cause microscopic deformation of the reference datum plane. This leads to continuous size deviation in machined workpieces and costly scrap.

Every piece of raw material in our factory strictly completes the full annealing and stabilizing process. This standard is derived from over ten years of practical engineering experience across numerous CNC fixture and automation projects. The reference surfaces are precision-ground to hold tight flatness and parallelism, and the locating bore is fine-ground to minimize clearance, ensuring stable positioning even after countless clamping cycles.

    Core Advantages

1.Drop-in Compatibility with the Original EROWA System

The datum and interface are manufactured to match the EROWA original 72 standard. It engages smoothly with mainstream EROWA chucks, palletizers and electrode holders, so end customers do not need to change their existing system or add adapters.

2.High Quality Material, Stable and Durable

Made from premium hardened alloy steel with uniform hardness, the blank offers long service life and dependable results under repeated clamping and cutting load. It is a durable investment compared with cheaper blanks that deform or wear quickly.

    3.Tight Dimensional Tolerances

Reference surfaces are precision-ground with strict flatness and parallelism control. Every blank undergoes 100% full-item dimensional inspection before delivery, and each unit is shipped with an original inspection report that can be supplied for verification upon overseas buyers' request.

    4.Fully Customizable Blank

As a real OEM manufacturer, we support customization of surface treatment, marking, drilling and tapping layouts. Customers can order blanks prepared to their fixture design, reducing in-house preparation time and errors.

5.Stable Batch Supply and Competitive Factory Price

Standard sizes are often kept in stock for shorter delivery, and bulk orders are welcomed with stable quality and competitive factory price. Small sample orders are supported before mass production.

    Why Choose JWGRIP

Many suppliers sell EROWA-compatible blanks, but the difference lies in what happens before the product reaches you. We are the real manufacturer, not a trading company, and every step of production is controlled inside our own CNC-fixture workshop.

    • Full in-house control: forging, heat treatment, precision grinding and inspection are all completed by our own team, so material quality and process discipline are never outsourced or compromised.
    • Verified material and heat treatment: every blank strictly completes stress-relieving and stabilizing treatment, avoiding the deformation and accuracy loss common with cheap blanks that skip this step.
    • Competitive factory price without middleman: buying directly from the maker lowers your procurement cost while keeping stable batch quality.
    • Flexible MOQ and fast supply: standard sizes are often kept in stock, and small sample orders are supported before mass production.
    • One-stop customization: pre-machining, surface treatment, marking and special dimensions are available according to your drawing.
    • Reliable after-sales: 12-month warranty, spare-part support and remote technical guidance come standard with every order.

    Manufacturing Process

All blanks go through full-flow production including forging, CNC machining, heat treatment, precision grinding and inspection within our in-house CNC-fixture workshop. No complete-unit OEM outsourcing is adopted.

Complete production workflow: alloy-steel blank forging, rough machining, stress-relief aging, semi-finishing, precision grinding of reference surfaces and bore, dimensional inspection, hardness check, surface treatment, final inspection, anti-rust protection, and export-grade packing.

    Quality Control & Certifications

Mandatory pre-delivery inspection items for every unit: reference-surface flatness and parallelism test, locating-bore diameter and roundness check, hardness test, and surface-finish check. Each unit is delivered with a unique factory-inspection data sheet. Our factory holds ISO 9001 quality-management-system certification. Material certificates are available for key metal components, and third-party laboratory inspection designated by customers is acceptable.

    Installation & Usage Notes

Before mounting, clean the reference surfaces and locating bore to remove chips and oil. Fasten mounting screws strictly following the torque values specified in the manual; violent over-torque tightening is forbidden to avoid blank deformation. Avoid heavy chip accumulation on the datum plane and blow-clean locating surfaces with compressed air at every shift change. Never exceed the maximum load listed on the specification sheet, as overload causes permanent deformation and destroys positioning accuracy.

    Packing, Lead Time After-sales Service

Export-grade shock-proof solid-wood packing cases with thick foam inner buffer protection are adopted to safeguard precision datum surfaces against collision damage during long-distance ocean shipping. Standard lead time is 10–15 days, and certain standard items are kept in stock for shorter delivery.

    After-sales Service

A 12-month full-unit warranty covers manufacturing defects not caused by human mis-operation, with free repair or spare-part replacement provided. Remote online technical guidance for installation and usage is available. Customized modification service is supported, including pre-machining, surface treatment and marking. Free samples are available for customer evaluation, with freight cost undertaken by buyers.

    FAQ

Q1: What steel grade and hardness is the blank made of, and will my own machining affect the hardened layer?

A1: The blank is made of high-grade alloy steel, delivered in hardened and stabilized condition with a uniform hardness of approximately HRC 48–52. The reference surfaces and locating bore are precision-ground after heat treatment, so the critical datum surfaces retain full hardness. Light drilling, tapping or milling on the blank body will not affect the datum surfaces. If your design requires deep or heavy material removal, tell us the final hardness needed so we can adjust the material and processing accordingly.

Q2: What are the flatness and parallelism tolerances, and will customer machining affect them?

A2: The reference surfaces are precision-ground to a tight flatness, and the datum surface maintains controlled parallelism to the locating bore, verified by 100% full-item inspection before delivery. Because the blank is supplied in a stress-relieved, stabilized condition, ordinary drilling, tapping and milling will not cause measurable deformation. To preserve accuracy, clamp the blank on its reference surfaces during machining and avoid excessive heat build-up or over-torque.

Q3: How compatible is the blank with the original EROWA system, and is it interchangeable across batches?

A3: The datum diameter, locating bore and interface height are manufactured to match the EROWA original 72 standard, so it engages directly with standard EROWA chucks, palletizers and electrode holders. Every batch is produced under the same fixtures, gauges and process parameters, and each unit is dimensionally inspected before delivery, so blanks are interchangeable within and across batches without re-indicating.

Q4: What is the maximum load the blank can withstand, and will pre-machining weaken it?

A4: The 72 blank is designed to carry the load capacity of the standard EROWA system it fits, and its material and thickness provide the rigidity needed for normal machining loads. For heavy cutting, deep pockets or large overhangs, provide the maximum workpiece weight and cutting load, and our engineers will assess whether a hardened or reinforced version is required. Avoid removing excessive material around the locating bore, as this reduces local rigidity.

Q5: Is the blank suitable for EDM, and how is grounding and electrical contact ensured?

A5: Yes. When used on EDM machines, the blank is clamped through the metal-to-metal contact of the EROWA chuck, which provides reliable grounding and electrical continuity. If a surface treatment such as blackening or plating is applied, we can leave the contact areas untreated to preserve electrical conductivity. Confirm your EDM requirement when ordering so we choose the appropriate surface finish.
